Admission Results Can Require Daunting Choices
It has been a week that is amazing! The fantastic College Admissions Scandal of 2019 broke this morning — the period that is annual of choices — and rocks on . A college that is historic confidential thread, now approaching 3,000 (!) articles, has analyzed every aspect of the ‘pay to relax and play’ fiasco, from both a moms and dad’s and pupil’s perspective.
Of course the media were having an industry day along with of this, too. In fact, it is unusual that one can click on a news site, nevertheless, without seeing some type or form of story linked to the scandal. Students are suing colleges, moms and dads are suing colleges, universities are rescinding admissions, etc. It is a higher education three-ring circus.
Plus, the timing could not be more perfect, or awful, depending on which part you’re on. A few weeks, the Ivy League springtime decisions should come away, along with those of other alleged ‘elite’ schools. These ‘elites’ are in the scandal’s bullseye. Thus, one metaphor that is possible in a few days’s pending decisions might be that of a rocket on the launch pad using its engines pre-ignited, prepared for the shackles holding it back to launch and permit liftoff.
